    Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but i couldnt find the ask a local for help thread. sorry.

    But what im asking is, does anyone know if these can be brought by someone like me and not in bulk, can they be sourced from outside of japan and what would the average price be?

    It's not apparent if they sell to individuals in small quantity. To make an order you have to request a quote and then you will be contacted by a sales rep. They're not setup for sales outside Japan so you would have to contact them and ask. If you only want to order one, it's probably not worth their time. If you are ordering a lot, you could try contacting them in English and you might get lucky.

    Thanks, i only needed 2 though, its a shame because they would be perfect for my next project

    You could still always email them and see if they reply. They might be able to recommend a distributor or something. I can't say for certain for this particular company, but usually there is somebody in sales who can at least communicate in English over email since they might have operations in SE Asia or China. The worst thing that happens is you don't get a reply, so it's no big deal.

    Ahh.. but you know there is one! ;-) It doesn't have Japanese helpers, anyway. You could always try the Japan forum, but OT is fine.

    It's a rotary position sensor - a type of potentiometer. Just go to your country's large electronics distributors. There's a stickied list in repairs.

    They won't be cheap, though. Probably around the £20 / $30 mark each.
