i myself have been trying to get one cheap, but from my experiance and from how neo geo collectors are, you really cant get them cheap. Even an untouched model goes for quite a bit. For instacne $120 would be considered real chea for a neo geo, however on average expect to pay $200 and up for the thing alone. Though i must say the real poplular old titles like fatal fury special and samurai showdown 1 and 2 can easily be had for as low $14 on ebay suprisingly.

I've been trying to get a few *working* AES for under $200 shipped a piece for the past month without luck. I can't believe I lost this one broken Neo console lot, oh man... :_( That's definately the way to go if you've got any electronics skills!

It's damn near impossible to get an AES for under 200. Wasn't that way a few years ago, but prices have gone up, I guess.

I'd say go for a consolized MVS or a full blown cabinet. If you play your cards right, you can probably get a cabinet for around 400...maybe a bit more.

This sucks balls. I'd rather get another Xbox and put all them games on there than pay $200 for a AES.

Don't be that guy. The emulation guy. Just save some cash up...once you get the AES, just buy cheap games for awhile. --If by chance you don't like the system, you know you can get back what you paid for it.

It is a quick way to try out games without having to rent them, thats for sure, but a tangible collection is more worthwhile. But Im broke, so I emulate them. Dont worry, I have only 2 games on a burned cd that I never play, anymore.

yup. its neer impossible to get it for under $200, i remember one auction i was bidding on i was going for abotu $100, but when it ended it reached$240, and mind you it was a complete set boxed with controller and memory card, as well as two boxed games. Though a funny thing ive noticed lately, how come japanese aes seem to be easier to find then U.S. ones?

Was it you bidding against me on this one?

I can tell you it is working perfectly :D , £17 is the cheapest I found. But I guess I was really lucky on this one and now you hate me... A good clean on the ports and it was good as new.

I just need to find a controller to play it though :-(

I bought a neo geo mvs (yeah the arcade system) for 70€ 2 weeks ago, and i made a supergun for play in my tv and to use neogeo aes controllers. I prefer the mvs system because the games are very cheap ( i bought 2 games for 50€ - metal slug 2 and neo turf master-) and with the universal bios i can play with it how an aes.

well, i have a friend that his father and uncle have a company of arcade machines (dards, videogames...) and i ask him for a mvs pcb for me, and he found one very cheap and in excelent conditions (it appears new :D) Also i ask him for games and he has about 100 cartridges :D very cheap too, i bought him a metal slug 2 for 30€ and neo turf master for 20€, and i bought too 2 set of sticks and pushbottons (stick + 5 pushbottons for 5€) for my future arcade controller :D

The Neo Geo market is at an all time low, buy right now if you ever will.

THe machine still, $200 shipped is about it.

yeh, in about 5 years from now the price for an authentic AES unit will prolly be $300+, just the console and maybe the controller.

So there is no where you can get these for cheap? I thought they'd be more common in Japan or something. Do the games have region protection?
