    Hi,

Doing the overclok mode with switch on my dreamcast, it seems that I've broken IC305 :-(
It can't generate the 33.3x.... Now I can rum my dreamcast with an external 40mhz oscillator but it's really not stable and the dc regularly reboot from itself. When reverting all to original state, the dreamcast can't boot.

What is exactly the IC305 IC, I have to find a new one.

    Thanks in advance.

Can'T you simply replace the 40MHz oscillator for a 33.3MHz one? It should be stock speed then.

Unfortunately, I do not have one.... If I have to buy something, I prefer to replace ic305...

Is there a good benchmark program I could use to see the difference when overclocked. I can't see the difference with a quicker oscillator. :-(

I always find it hard to tell the difference - you need to have a switch with a label to tell the difference to start. Games like Power stone 2 run ALOT smoother (especially playing 4 player).

Its more a case of no slow down rather than a clear 'difference' in gameplay.

Do you need any extra cooling when overclocking (like an improved fan) or had any issues with overheating?

I've done nothing except change the oscillator frequency (40mhz). I have a VA0 with heat pipe and metal fan....
    I've followed this
But I do not see a difference...
