They're all over eBay right now. There are masses of them exploding out of China, and they're pretty cheap. What happened is someone illegaly started running the assembly line again. So they are bootlegs, and yet they are the real, 100% legit item. I've bought many of them. Get the ones in the "SLS" taller boxes, not the horrible bootlegs in a very short box with no SEGA logo.
Ah, so my USB Saturn pad is probably one of those bootlegs. That would explain how I was able to get one this year from an auction sites, since I thought they hadn't been made in several years...the quality is as good as an actual Saturn pad though.
Yep, they seem to be the real thing, down to the types of plastic used, L+R switches, wires, boxes, and official labels on the controller back. Haven't opened one up, though. Someone should do a photo comparison on the PCB.
I use a PS2 pad with a USB adaptor. Best I have found. In addition you can use the wealth of arcade sticks etc. released for the PS1 and PS2 on them.
