Some of you might remember a topic I made in BST for a price quote on these... Its not the same story now, I don't plan on selling but I'm looking for info. The Xbox Test Equipment Bootloader Utility Disks are supposedly used in factory and/or refurb facilities. From what we were able to gather on X-S (here), it is probably used in the MFG process or to test broken units. I feel that there is plenty more to be found out which is why I'm asking the community here for help. If you work at one of these facilities or know something on how to use these disks, let me know here or via PM. I have 2 different versions of the disk (sept 2001 and june 2003). The sept 2001 disk displays a simple yellow screen and nothing else but the newer june 2003 disk actually has an interface. Problem is, I don't know how to get past the IP screens. Thanks for any help provided.
...The solution to running these disc's is simple, all you need is the corresponding Manufacture Terminal Server, get one of them and your in business. ...Not 'supposedly' but 'exclusively'.
would it be possible to write an app for the pc that tricks it into thinking it is connected to the server? (dont ask me... i suck with programming)
well... it is m$ and they did not expect anyone to get ahold of these disks so maby... theres not much server side security
Lol, wrong logic m8, they expected the disc's to be leaked, hence they upped the security at development stage! ...Remember these disc's are old and have been kicking around the scene for at least five years and still no one has made anything useful from them
We can only hope. I expect details on its use might be leaked in the future. I suppose the employees are tied to an NDA at the moment and maybe for a while to come. The server side of things needs to be figured out. And oldengineer, do you know what the older ones were used for (v.01)? There doesn't seem to be a way to interact with that version of the utility...just a plain yellow screen... Well, maybe there is a way to do that .
we need to find sombody that works at a plant and pay them $20 to leak stuff and if i remember right sombody said they had a box of like 50 of these disks but i dont remember who... i want to buy an original
