Hey everyone, I came across some Japanese PS2's. The problem is they won’t play DVD's because I don't have the setup disc. Could someone mail me an already created memory card file with the DVD already setup? Thanks.
That won't work. The DVD player software is tied to the serial number of the unit it is installed on. You can't use the save from one machine on another. -hl718
Hi Hi-Ricky, What version is the best? I'm not very familiar with the different versions. Thanks, Mr. rare
v1.0 I believe was the culprit that let you the region-free hack and then there's v1.01 that I have and more afterwards - haven't kept up with it so not sure what's the current version though...
If the DVDs are region free then what's the problem? The PAR will load the DVD driver of your choice after boot. Doesn't require any weird key-mashing bug either. If you don't mind that (and have JPN v1.0 utility disc) then it's probably not worth getting. EDIT: Wait, you can't play ANY DVDs?
From what i know the early PS2 had this "problem" ( i don't see that as a problem). I think that the Utility Disc 1.01 was supposed to fix this.
