looking for pics/information about sf3 double impact Widescreen Street fighter 3 double impact has a wide screen mode you can set in the bios that uses 496 x 224 instead of 384x224. has anyone seen the actual wide screen units or have pictures/information on the original wide screen monitor?
Please take it with a bucket of salt because this is from second hand sources (Friends who owned a cabinet, arcade operator/manager etc.) As far as I know, although Street Fighter Second Impact (Double Impact is actually a PS2/DC port in which the two SF3 versions are included in the same disc) has support for widescreen, I do not know any Arcade cabinets that Capcom has released that is in widescreen. So perhaps it is intended by Capcom for future proofing, which I think they canceled such plans because every other game in CPS3 Capcom released after that doesn't have that widescreen support.
There is a Widescreen mode in SFIII 2nd Impact, but you're best using it Mame, as StriderVM says there aren't many if any widescreen monitors. If you want to activate it in Mame, you have to use the in-game setup.
