I have just recently gotten back into adding content to my arcade machine .

My most recent discovery was Shikigami no Shiro 1 and 2 . LINKED

I was wondering considering the wild jap games I see posted here , if anyone knew of any other titles that i should know about that would be perfect for my machine .

I pretty much have fighters on lock down , but am always open to suggestions . And remember that it has to be d-pad only becasue my sticks dont have analouge .

Psyvarier 2 got a Japanese only Xbox release. Other than that, I suppose it's whatever you can run in MAME.

Couldn't tell you if it uses digital control, sorry. But I have Psyvarier 2 on the DC and it's a damn fine shooter.

I have every fbaxxx pro and mame rom , so emulation is pretty much covered .

I guess I am more looking for full versions xbox games .

Does anyone know if Psyvariar does use dual analouge ???

  7. Yeah, it can be played with the dpad. Psyvariar 2 is a great game. Nothing like Ikaruga really, but better in my opnion. It's much more similar to Shikigami No Shiro in that the hook to both games if that getting in close to enemies or their bullets increases th epower of your own shots. I like Shikigami No Shiro 2 more than Psyvariar 2 personally, but they're both great, so if you're trying to get every game you can, by all means pick upo Psyvariar 2.

Here are arcade-style games that I personally own for the Xbox which all utilize D-pad control schemes

    *Street Fighter Collection
    *Capcom Classics Collection
    *Taito Memories
    *Kabuki Warriors
    *Guilty Gear XX
    *KOF 2k2/2k3
    *Metal Slug 3, 4, 5
    *Spikeout
    *Outrun 2
    *SVC Chaos

Guilty Gear X2 - wow thanx I will be getting this game too . Looks like a really good fighter . Linked

KOF - now getting the 2002, 2003 ,and maximum impact versions . Thanx they look awesome .

Kabuki Warriors- isn't that supposed to be the all time worst game for xbox ever ?

I never would of thought of those . I wish that someday Video game stores in the states start to stock stuff like this . If I wouldn't have asked and gone on ebay to find them I probally never would have heard of any of them .

Honestly, it's not a bad 2D fighter once you sit down and learn the combo system. I found that it plays similar to those Killer Instinct games which featured "dial-a-combos". Play through the campaign mode and you'll realize that the move and combo system is deep and the animation is pretty fluid.

The problem with Kabuki Warriors and the perception it garnered was the fact that it:
    (a) launched with the Xbox back in 2001
    (b) featured "dated" 2D gameplay in comparison to the 3D fighters like Dead or Alive 3
    (c) featured a really obscure and heavily Japanese theme
    (d) allowed button-mashers to beat the game simply by slapping some buttons.

Shouldn't cost more than $5 new (or used). Give it a try, if you're into arcade-style games you have nothing to lose really.
