Nope, you can get it to run off a disc, however not on a retail console.
Any homebrew app needs a 360 capable of running unsigned code.

True that, but aren't there a way instead like if i ran it on a genuine disc (if there are any by anychance) or have the app signed like a regular 360 game with a generator? Also are there any xbox 360 dev softwares or mod discs that run on retail too?

shuma, why development stop? it's an awesome launcher and just what is needed to simply launch a game, no bells and whistles... I use it since the jtag era and never failed me... (in fact a video of it on youtube - v0.26 IIRC - with that anime girl red-ish theme made me to go buy suitable jaspers for jtag) but it has some bugs in file manager and when you start it without a usb device connected, on my jasper jtags it just hangs the machine with a black screen.
No biggie but it would be nice to see it at some point working 100% bug free :)

not sure why anyone wouldn't just use FSD at this point, FSD3 is pretty snappy

There are people that don't need or care about eyecandy...
FSD is great but when all you need is a simple launcher then it's just bloatware.
