Have some stuff I want to preserve but I don't want to spend a lot of money buying two separate devices. There's a lot of different things out there and I don't know where to begin, so I'm looking for advice. Is there anything out there that dumps both GBA and GBC games? And hopefully not hundreds of dollars or something.

These would be all so called "pirate" games, plus unlicensed games from Taiwan. So hopefully a device that can handle any sort of weird stuff, since I know games of this nature don't always dump correctly.

A GB Transferer II (From EMS) should be OK.

I have one, it works via parallel port and USB for power... and it can dump GB/GBC/GBA Games (so far I haven't tried mine to dump GBA Games as I have a Nintendo DS which does the job faster).

Exact, I have a "50 in 1" cartridge for my GB, and I can't dump it with my GB Tranferer II...

The rom size resulting of the dump is always 64KB (Completely false, I guess the rom is 512KB because they are several 128KB games on it), it contains the menu and one game... that's all, the others 50 games freeze...

isn't that because the cart uses some obscure mapper that isn't dumpable unless custom software is made?

or maybe I'm just talking out of my a** again :)

Maybe, because once you have selected a game... from the menu, if you press "A+B+SELECT+START" you come back to the game you selected, not the menu...

Maybe this cartridge is already dumped anyway, it's a 50 in 1 with super mario land/tmnt/motocross maniac and a bunch of chinese games... the 5 last games are the 5 first + infinite lives.

Returning to the subject: The Retrode should get a GB/GBC/GBA adapter soon, and it's much faster/easier to use than a parallel port dumper.

I could be totally wrong, but perhaps EZ-Flash readers do GB as well? I know some GBA Flash cards support GB bridging so I would assume that any which does should dump GB games as well.

As for not being able to dump a full multi-cart, that's perfectly normal. It's due to the bank switching pirate companies use. You probably wouldn't really want to backup a multi-cart anyway because they are a dime a dozen.
