GUI in that video was abandoned. It looks nice, but KRIKzz said it really had not point beyond looking nice, it just made using the OS more clumsy. That video should probably be taken down from his YouTube channel. I think current OS is pretty good, is very fast and easy to use. Although his color scheme could use some work. Maybe some cooler looking borders and stuff, maybe someday he can allow people to skin their own OS.

As for slow initialization. Have you tried a different SD card or doing full format of SD card? That's first thing I would try. Even with super slow SD card it shouldn't take 30s to load OS. Does seem like there is issue reading from card. Either problem with SD card or problem with Mega EverDrive itself.

i format the SD card first and card speed is class 10, same SD card run very fast on sd2snes,so I think the problem is not the SD card, maybe is firmware because does not find toolbox in menu

probably it is because your sd card has a lot of files, also i guess that your sd card formatted with small cluster size.try this:
1)format your sd card with biggest cluster size (32kbyte is the best size)
    2)copy megaos on sd card
3)copy any big file (around 100mbyte) on SD card. it need for reserve the disk space in the begin of sd card. this trick allow OS to create files faster
4)copy your rom collection on sd card
    5)delete those big file
    6)enjoy

small piece of free space in the end of sd card + small cluster size = init slowdown
32kbyte cluster size + a lot of free space = fast init

compatibility problem with sd card also is possible. if works fast with sd2snes not mean that same card should work fast with mega ed, and visa versa.

Thanks for your help. I have to find the answer Too, I reformat the SD card, just copy the system files and a Rom, runs very fast, when I have the 5043 ROM copied to the SD card. The operating system load also fast, but when restart the game and save recurrence of the problems. I was further confirmed that this problem.

read steps 3 and 5 in post above. also format with 32kb cluster size. init speed should not be bigger than 3-4 sec, even without steps 3,5
