Good news! my ps3 is coming closer though I am curious how long it will take them to cut the prices in Europe (and how much as usually we pay much more then our US/JP friends
now if they'd get some games and do something about the crazy amount of power the thing uses they might stand a chance.
GodofHardcore, As a 360 gamer, you seriously can't be complaining about the power useage of a ps3 are you? I mean thats just being retarded.
the 360 uses a lot of juice, but the PS3 uses even more. Wii consumption levels are very pleasant though.
The PS3 does use more but not really that much more where it would make that big of a difference. http://www.hardcoreware.net/reviews/review-356-1.htm
MS can easily match this due to their lower price and lead. Even a $499 ps3 looks bad when they have few exclusives worth a damn. Also, has everyone forgot that the ps3 was already offered at $499 once?
360 uses about 120 Watts PS3 Is about 375 Watts or something like that. though that article posted above seems to dispute that. 1 thing Sony has over Microsoft is Good 1st party games. 360 has Halo but uh...... yeah what else?
http://www.tgdaily.com/content/view/32787/98/ Not surprisingly, SONY denies the existance of a price drop.
the 360 has better exclusive 3rd party support. The best game on the ps3 is an upgraded port of a last gen xbox game.
http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/06/sony-president-says-no-immediate-plans-for-ps3-price-cut/ Ninty and MS may also have price cuts in the works.
According to a french economical newspaper (Challenges): "Sony will reduce the ps3's price by 100€ in Europe this year." (probably before christmas...)
Was maybe going to import a PS3 this month.. but now I'm thinking of waiting to see if maybe the eBay prices will drop even lower as around $499 is what the PS3 normaly sells for there ^^
499 US DOLLARS 499 US DOLLARS 499 US DOLLARS 499 US DOLLARS 499 US DOLLARS In all seriousness though, you do get a lot for the money... ...but since it's marketed as a game console, certain standards are expected of it, and such a price goes against that.
Price drop to 499 for the 60GB model and a new 80GB HDD bundle confirmed today (see www.eurogamer.net)
I'm not paying $499 to play Motorstorm, and as that's the only game on the console that doesn't have a better, faster or more feature-packed version already on the 360, that means my home will continue to be PS3-free for the forseeable future.
