Yea, I figured it would be easier to lump the other 2 (likely) related topics
    into this one topic:

    Sega Suprise anouncment at E3
    Sega new console

    The evidence:
Sega has said they would make a suprise announcment at E3
    the following *supposedly* leaked images:

Also, remember that the Atomiswave Hardware is *IDENTICAL* to the Dreamcast!

Sega probably has plenty of DC parts left over to do a home Atomiswave. Also, the Atomiswave will obviously be geared to "hardcore" gamers / collectors ( You know, the same ones of us who own Neo Geo's ;p)

It all makes sense to me, but i'll be sure to head STRAIGHT to Sega's booth at E3!

Whats the point for release a home version of Atomiswave? While I want to believe on this, it doesn't look right. If the Atomiswave is just a JAMMA Dreamcast, why not re-release the DC instead?
If SEGA and Sammy don't want to use the Dreamcast's name, why not release a home version of NAOMI which is powerfull than the DC/Atomiswave (it just got more memory) while still compatible with the DC?

I wonder if SEGA themself did spread this hype around the net, or this is work of the media?

    Rerelease of DC

A plain re-release of the DC would not be worth it. Companies aren't focussed on GD's anymore and would rather put stuff on DVD's etc. It would make more sense if they made an Atomiswave DVD based console and then made it compatible with DC games.

id guess that it would play prettymuch everything around, you can buy a dvd player for £30 now, so it must be dead cheap to do. Plus, its oldish harware anyway, so wont cost much to produce.

Id say there is still a market for DC games in Japan, plus arcade-perfect home versions of things like kof'04, for the price of a normal game... i know lik-sang will get my preorder!

Also, having a home version will make more sence to developers, as they can sell more copys, without the costly process of porting.

   )

  8. Alright guys, sorry, but I'm locking this topic due to a bit of redundancy - we've already got 2 other topics (Sega's Mystery E3 Announcement and SHOCK!!!! Sege reentering the hardware business!) so can we move the discussion over to one of those?

Sonikku, while it's a nice thought to try to consolidate the other two threads, they are developed enough that all this does is add a repeat topic to the board.
