Long story short, updated to 9328.0 setup went fine...tried to make a pnet account and BOOM no video but ive still got sound. Can anyone help me with a step by step guide to get pal50/60 video setting please.
To reset the display settings of the Xbox 360 console to the default settings, follow these steps:1. Remove any discs from the disc tray. 2. Turn the console off. 3. Turn the console on. Note If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn the console on by using the Xbox Guide button on the controller. Note Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller is the controller where the upper-left quadrant light is on. 4. As the console starts, press and hold the Y button, and then pull the right trigger at the same time. This causes the Xbox Dashboard to reset the display settings to the default settings and then automatically restarts the console. So it's OK when the Xbox 360 console restarts. <3 from Pikkon R trigger is default, and other buttons are "force" to other video regions, I cant remember which buttons are which off the top of my head though http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showpost.php?p=415198&postcount=12
Thanks but thats the first thing i tried....i looking for more of a, press "x" to go to tools, up one place press "A" sort of guide.
can you still screen shots from your pc? you should be able to navigate back to the settings that way
I don't have a working Ethernet port on my pc, so no I can't see anything. I need someone just to write down how they get from the main screen to pal50 or pal60 mode cos the kit just throws 4 red rings if I put the component cable on HD.
I'm doing this from 11164.3 so it may be different. First, turn on the console Press (X) for tools Press dpad down once to get to system settings Press (A) to select system settings Press dpad down 5 times to get to video mode Press (A) to select video mode Press dpad down 2 times to get to PAL-60 or press dpad down 3 times to get to Pal-50 then press (A) on either one. Hope it helped.
First of all I'd like to thank everyone that's helped....second of all non of it's worked but I think I've found the culprit "PNet"....I left my dev unpluged with the harddrive off overnight, just turned it on and it all worked fine so I connected the hd made a non live profile and still fine, then made a live profile and set it to auto sign in and POOF no video again and the top left quadrant on the controller flashes. If there's anyone out there that knows if PNet changes video settings on login or any other reason why this happens I'd like to know
This actually sounds like a GPU error and auto-sign in seems to be just coincidence. Be on the lookout if you have an old revision motherboard.
I don't think it's gpu related because when I noticed the system threw 4 red lights when I put the component cable to HD it got my cogs turning, because when I first fixed the a/v port I only soldered pins 5,7,13,14,15 and 16 so I got basic video output to see if it worked. I think one of the pins was shorting which was changing the video mode, so I soldered the other pins up and I haven't had the problem since....
It didn't occur to me untill the next day, I updated the kit pretty late at night so I was trying to troubleshoot whilst tired....the next day I picked up on the problem easily. sleeping on it really does help
When I replaced the broken a/v port I only soldered 6 out of the 30 pins so I got basic video output just to see if it worked, then I went to sleep and forgot that I hadn't fully soldered all the pins.....fast forward a few weeks and I moved the console ( I dropped something behind the desk) then I boot it up to update to 9xxx dash. I think when I moved the console one of the unsolder pins must have moved causing a random short that changed the video mode and the tv I have upstairs is a big CRT that can't display in HD so I go through the motions of trying certain bootup button sequences with no luck.... I post I need help on here and after getting numerous hints and still having no luck I go to bed, the next morning I take the damn thing downstairs to see if it will display on my HDTV... I plug in the component cable flick the switch on the cable to HDmode and I get four red lights, it's at this moment I realise the pins for HD output cannot be soldered because the console can't even detect the av cable... So I solder the remaining 24 pins and it works fine. So in conclusion I'm a absent minded fool:banghead:
