Luckerly not too much has been taken, used to work in the local sorting office there is a few shady people - they got sacked. But oon the whole they were decent honest people and it was one of my best jobs i had. :drinkers:
I've only lost something in the mail once it was a set of 2 sonic games from trigga007 , they never arrived :smt022 Thankfully i've never had anything i sent to people get lost
You should have seen that documentary in the UK about the royal mail. Those crazy Nigerians and their credit card/passport scams, you never seen anything like it... Couriers in the UK tend to be as shit as they come, but at least you know it will arrive eventually...
I've lost 3 packages in the last 6 months or so, despite having had 500+ flawless transactions before that. Luckily the most valuable was a copy of SMS Space Harrier 3D, and I was able to get refunds from the sellers in every case. Still kinda disheartening, though...
I've had problems with the post services of the world quite a few times. There's the stuff I sent to LeGIt 3 months ago by airmail which still hasn't arrived and looks as if it isn't going to. Then there's the box of Saturn goodies I sent to AntiPasta. They were sent by Surface mail but surely they should have arrived by now. Then there was the Border Down Sega Direct set that was sent to Spain. I ended up having to refund that guy because he had paid for insured delivery. Anyway two months later the parcel arrives back at my home in Japan with a load of Spanish writing over it. I took a picture of it and sent it to the guy who it was originally meant for. He told me that the Spanish writing said that the address could not be found but the guy in Spain said that the address was perfectly fine. The biggest fuck up by the post office I had was a Hello Kitty Dreamcast set that was mean to go to Sweden. That was sent by EMS and disappeared in Germany !! So even bloody recorded delivery items can go missing. Yakumo
I've had a mint and complete Gals Fighters /Metal Slug NGPC UK go missing in the post. :smt022 Royal Mail UK's head was sacked in May for Royal Mails' ongoing record of a lost 1 000 000 packages on average per month. Makes you ask - if there isn't some huge-scale scam going on, WHERE the hell do a million packages every month GO?
They go right into the greedy hands of mailmen, you just can't trust em anymore. It starting to happen here in holland more and more that expensive things that are sent by non insured postage get stolen at the mail sorting centers :smt009
Well, i still haven't got the DexDrive Antipasta got for me. Probably got lost on the way, since he sent it on march, if i'm not mistaken. I don't even have hopes for it to arrive anymore :-(
I ordered a few thermal compunds in january from a store in the US and it never arrived. I actually don't know if the store sent it or not. After a month I asked the seller for a receipt of sending and he said that he threw it away after 2 weeks. I don't know any professional seller that don't keep records of its deals, but I digress.
I have never had any problems with the mail service here. Either I am extremely lucky, or USPS is a lot better than I thought.
the only real problem with the mail was that some idiot i know threatened to mail me a can of ravioli. WTF!!!!!!!!!!???????? NOT KIDDING!
:smt043 :smt043 What a great Threat ^_^ I've not lost anything in the mail yet....but I've had thingsmisplaced.....like my exam results that got lost, lol. Oh, and when I bought my first Dreamcast it arrived 3 weeks late :smt067 Both thanks to the mail service though, and not the senders.
as i said, the guy was an idiot. he thinks its friggin hilarious in marvel vs. capcom 2 when Jin does a punch attack. its WAY to dumb to repeat why, though. :smt009
Not to worry! Missing mail turns up ... eventually!!! I guess then perhaps my Xbox refresh disk and the Dreamcast watercooling/heatpipe will eventually arrive :smt082
Been my experience that you can trust "private" divlivery companies like Fed Ex, UPs, etc more than the regular government post office. They tend to keep better records, have more polite and effective customer service, etc. However they also tend to be more expensive, and seeing how most people will wait longer if it saves them a few bucks.... go figure. Only thing I've ever lost was a Starwars Aura Sing action figure I got from Ebay which never arrived. Luckily that only cost me about $7. For game stuff I usually insist on getting insurance, tracking numbers, etc.
Johnny: Very sorry to hear about that :smt009 I know how much it sucks :-( I once lost a parcel from Trigga containing a JP copy of Samba de Amigo and 5 uncommon PAL Saturn games (Sega Ages, Steep Slope Sliders, KoF95) in the mail... and Yakumo's Saturn is taking a bloody long time :smt009
No problem dude. These kinds of things happens. It sucks, because i was dying to get that Dexdrive. But as soon as i can buy stuff online again, i'll try to get another one.
It really makes you wonder why someone would mail a Christmas card to their relative who is only 3 MILES AWAY!!! :smt014
