That must be the kiosk station for downloading games to your card.

Thank you for the pictures by the way. My iQue didn't come with a manual so it's nice to see that. Did Ocarina of Time come preinstalled or did you get a download code for it?

Sexy insides. I have an iQue sitting on my shelf. God it was hell getting the firmware updated on it while in china. lol.

I'm jellous of your zelda manual. =(

Anyways yeah the PC is a iQue Depo where you can upgrade the units firmware along with purchasing games. These are becoming rare to find in china anymore as the latest iQue firmware lets you use your home PC to purchase and install software. Along with being allowed to install a demo version of each game (normal game with a play timer).

Ocarina of Time came with the iQue, which was a nice surprise, as I previously thought they all came with Dr. Mario.

I've been trying like crazy to get the download cards from China, but something always goes wrong when I manage to find somewhere to order them:-(

They are really hard to obtain now a days. Back in march I ended up with the last two cards for shenyang (and they were through an official aftermarket support company, not a retail outlet).:crying:

If they were easier to obtain I would ask my mother in law to try getting a few more but I put her through enough hell just to get my ique fw updated.

Does your mother in law speak English? I guess that would make things even hard to do. I mean puzzling over what "Firmware" means, etc :)

No she doesn't but my wife does and we were both in china visiting when I delt with it. But dear god that was pretty brutal. We went to the retail stores listed on the iQue website and none of them knew what the hell we were talking about. All they had were iQue branded GBAs. Luckily there was someone there who actually did remember the iQue player and was able to find us the company that gives aftermarket support for it. They in turn no longer had the depo PC and had to send my iQue all the way to HQ in bejing to upgrade the firmware.

Thanks for sharing the pictures Marmotta
Is there any chance you took some close-up pictures of some of the smaller chips?

Hey just a minor question. Does anybody want pictures of what the iQue Game cards look like? Kind of neat (even though they are simply just the equivalent of a PSN/XBL Pre-Paid points card).

    Possibly...

Oddly I don't see the ram anywhere. Also there is a nice empty slot on the right side (of the cpu). I wonder what was intended to go there.

Too bad nobody hacked this thing. I know someone figured out how to dump the flash but that's as far as it went.
