    It's not a dev kit in the tradtional sense and it certainly isn't "low-level" in any regard. It is a very high level scripting engine developed by FROM Software. Called Adventure Player it is "development" software in the sense that RPG Maker is "development" software.

    Out now for the PSP in Japan, you download the PC software for free from the FROM website and purchase the Adventure Player disc in the store. Download your creations to memory card and then boot off the Adventure Player UMD to run them. Games created with Adventure Player are all going to be in the vein of the "Play Novel" genre in Japan -- lots of text and still images. Three demo games are included with the UMD, one of which is FROM's old PSone game Echo Night.
