Hi Everyone, As you may or may not already know, Tore Lundqvist is the designer and creator of the wonderful LPT to USB copier interface device. This device allows your copier to interface with your computer using USB, without any of the slowness or negative side effects which plague typical universal LPT2USB devices. Currently this device only supports Super Wild Card protocol, however with a little help from the RGBA community, Tore has expressed interest in supporting other major copier manufactures as well. If anyone else is interested in these kinds of subjects, I encourage you to join in on the discussion! https://www.supercom32.net/forums/i...al-thread-lpt-to-usb-copier-interface-device/
Cool! I can use of those might need to place an order with ilead for a couple of PCB's, anyone else? Thanks for sharing.
This is only speculative, but If you have the ability to make these you could probably assemble extras and just sell them. The biggest barrier to entry for this device is the fact that you have to build it yourself. Not a small task, if your a laymen in electronics!
Cool stuff indeed. Sometimes it can be quite challenging to run old game flasher for gameboy that require the db25 port.
I hope support for various copiers becomes a reality. Perhaps UCON64 and other tools' source code will help with figuring out support for other devices.
@MottZilla: Indeed! The original SWC support was reversed from analyzing the UCON64 source code since they already figured out the protocol. For other copiers, it would be the same since there's no point in re-inventing the wheel. The only difficult part is testing code out on real hardware since not everyone has these copiers. As you can imagine, it would suck debugging a protocol bug without a real copier to communicate with.
Well the Game Doctor SF series are pretty common. I bet they are more common to come across than the Super Wild Card series. It would make it a good choice to work on.
