Aw, fuck... Well, still made us all think a lot, didn't it? From what I read in this fellow's piece, it's either some butthurt christian angry at Reddit's "Skepticism" or an emasculated feminoid bitching about "Men's Rights". Good fiction writer, though.
The first thing I thought was "His life must be really LAME if he wants to spend his last hours dwelling on the internet". It actually never made me think of euthanasia. I'm in favor of it since as long as I can remember. And really, all my loved ones know that if the time comes when I am disabled, sick or having had an accident or sth, I DEMAND to be unplugged, and injected with something so my life ends sooner and with less suffering. I do not dream about a dignifying death, because there is no dignity in death. Dignity is something that only can be achieved through fighting through the end. Like my dad did.
Someone disproved the Oregonian's statement, as you have to take introvenous drugs before you can take the pill, which *is* part of Oregon's Death With Dignity Act. So in fact, if this is all true and lucidending really was who he said he was, this newspaper rang a dying man's phone off the hook and was surprised when he didn't answer. I would say that even if lucidending was a troll (although it doesn't really matter either way) the writer for the Oregonian is a horrible, insensitive hack trying to find a 'scoop' to get their name in lights.
That sucks. Seriously. However, that made people to think about their lives. At least its made me to think about it.
