Hey all, Im at school and I couldnt wait to report this little tad of info I found. Lunar genesis sounds like it might tell the story of the four heroes, Imo.
Lets hope this is no April fool.

It's horseshit. Game Arts is working on Grandia III right now (Japanese don't do April Fool's Jokes) and no way could they work on the two at once. I seriously doubt they licensed it either.

I did see Lunar Genesis announced in Gamesarefun and LunarNet like last week, though.

    It might be "in progress".

  6. There's been a game called 'Lunar' announced since the DS launch here, and recently it was changed to the "Lunar Genesis" and Ubi listed as the publisher. I sure hope it tells a new story, because there's already enough ports of the original Lunar, and I've already got the excellent Lunar Legends. Now I would be in no way disappointed if they decided to redo Lunar 2:EB for this project.. :-D

Do you guys remember the LUnar 3 umors about 5 years ago when the PS2 was just coming out? Some offbeat Irish company was saying they were making Lunar 3 for the PS3 or some weird shit.

Anyways, if it's coming out, I'm going to guess that it's licensed since Game Arts has stated (and proven) that they like doing pretty much one game at a time.

    HA!
Supposedly, the new game takes place 1000 years before Lunar 1, and the Release date will be on July 26. It will be published by Ubisoft as well.

So nobody's heard anything, and the game comes out in 6 weeks? I smell a turd brewing.

  12. Well, don't forget that E3 is just a few weeks off; I doubt it will pass without some sort of news about the project. Apparently both EB and Gamestop have the game open for preorder on their website and in retail stores, which makes me think the release isn't too far off. Either way, I think I'm gonna go put some money down on it. :-D

Also, apparently that lunar-net.com and Ubisoft had a poll going (closed May 2nd) asking for a new name for Lunar Genesis, which was apparently just the development name thus far. There' hasn't been a ton of news, but the little things that have happened don't really have me thinking hoax...

Any chance this is a US-developed game?

I doubt many people here cared about it enough to look into it.

"In Progress" could mean anything though.

I'm sure the development of FFXXXVII is "In Progress", i.e. some artist is brain-farting around with character design for it or something.

I imagine that plenty of things are "in progress" in that sense over at Game Arts, doesn't mean we'll see any of them in the next five years.

Well Lunar Genesis has screens, which is more than Lunar 3 can say. *IF* 3 comes out, it will maybe be a dissapointment. That game has been "In Progress" since 1998-ish, I believe!

  18. Seeing as this has the release date of July 26, I think it's a lot closer to completion than the vaporware of 'in-progress' that WanganRunner is suggesting...

I don't know about the battle scenes...they look Pokemonish.
Still, I'm looking forward to see what happens. One more reason to get a DS... and I'm STILL broke...
