think its for those who needed a replacement cord since theres was considered unsafe(recall for cords made for x-boxes before a certain date.
Yep, have to agree with Ricky, quick service from MS, the only issue I had was that I needed about 15 new leads but am only allowed to order 3 per household. ...Needless to say I've so far got 7 different types of leads all within a few days. ...They even shipped a Japanese console lead out from Japan via DHL, just to ensure it had Japanese instructions on it!!!! ...And, err, no I can't speak Japanese
How did you get the Japanese one? On Xbox.com I don't see a way to choose, unless they decide that you have a Japanese console when you enter your serial number.
Yeh, the serial relates exactly to the specific individual console. ...So 'you' don't have to choose, its all worked out for you ...Japanese 'smoke grey' Limited Edition = old = new cable required
It sucks that my country is not on the list. My Xboxs (even debug one LOL) need new, good power cords, but Microsoft do not send them to Poland. My house can burn any time thanks to mr bill gates
Thats terrible, didn't know there was a restriction on countries. ...Is that because you can't buy an Xbox from the shops in Poland?
Microsoft Poland started selling Xbox in Poland in 2004 (sic!). Unofficially (Xboxs imported from USA and then Germany, France etc. by people) Xbox was on the first day (european start) in Poland. It would be nice if somebody from Germany/France (because they have the same style of power plug) could order power cords as me and send them to my country.
Of course, Bill's going to come to your house personally and light it on fire if you don't have one of the cables. Not to say that there isn't a risk, but I think people are going overboard with the "OMG! XBOX IS A FIRE HAZARD! IT MELTED MY CAT!" thing. The amount of cases where there were problems with the power cords numbered in the VERY low double-digits, and all of these happened when the XBox was left on for an extremely long time - usually about 6 hours. With that sort of unrecommended use and the small amount of accidents, Microsoft really didn't have to do anything, but just for the hell of it, they unveiled this new power cord and started shipping them to XBox owners. Of course, it is Microsoft, so people will still find SOMETHING to bitch about... Why's the Japanese cord so desireable? Does it filter your power to Japanese or something?
wtf? wtf? All I got was this lousy power cord... I want one with the cool button thingie... *sob* Anyway fast service by Microsoft, arrived in about 3 days, even before the confirmation email! :-D
The type of power cord you get depends on the model number so some of you wont get the funky ones with buttons I suppose.
