i have had my m3 adapter for a while and it started acting up. it wouldn't save my game data. so i desoldered the battery and now i lost it. so idk what battery to put in it and in what way it goes. i have got other flash carts like the ez-flash 4 but i love my m3 adapter cause it can play my KH: chains of memories rom. thanks.
I used a CR2032 and electrical type years before I discovered this site. Since it was a duracell, it still works.
Do you have the cf model? I replaced the battery on my cf model and will post pics of the pcb tonight if needed.
i got the mini sd version but i think they should have the same mobo. so i swap'd out the battery and it kinda works. it keeps the save for about a day or two. also i can't do a quick load. i got hit the start button to lunch the game. idk if they had a system update for back then. this is the back of the board this is the front and i need to know if i soldered the battery the correct way. and if i didn't would it fry something. and this a close up of a chip that got loose when i pulled off electrical tape i had covering the board while i soldered in the battery. i was able to heat up the pads and re solder it back in. i just dont know what this chip is for.
Hopefully someone here a has a pic of the board. Next time take a sharpie and mark the polarity beside each terminal. (sharpie comes off with alcohol)
My M3 Battery (Panasonic CR2016) is reversed compared to yours, but the polarity still matches, so you are good to go. BT1 is Negative. I think that chip is for RTC. My Pokemon Emerald RTC worked to the point of being able to grow berries and take lotteries daily.
