http://kotaku.com/5374187/princess-peach-in-a-kimono-nintendos-kyoto-event/gallery/ this is from an official thing by Nintendo Although the SNES gets a sattelaview underneath it.. there's no 64DD to be seen!!!! It also seems that nintendo is giving heavy emphasis on their peripherals, in retrospect - items that weren't as hot as they want to make us believe :110: The Pikachu mic, seriousy? I demand a 64DD to be plugged there!!!
I'd say it's more possible kotaku (or who ever took the pictures) just sucks is all. In the right hand side of the N64 picture you can see a box for pokemon stadium but there is no pictures of that section. There also is a picture where you could faintly see a famicom Disk Drive yet again no full pictures of a famicom with the drive plugged in.
Indeed, in fact there are a number of other add ons missing including the Famicom modem and the GBA player for the Gamecube... As well as the Pokemon Mini unit...
I think I have more nintendo itmes stored in my room than displayed there ;-) and I'm very far from having everything.
I shouldn't write things before I go to bed. I edited my line to what it should have been Like? There are things missing like the old consoles (Odyssey, Othello, various pong consoles, etc), Game & Watch, The couple of LCD games that aren't game and watch and a couple of other things but for the consoles they do have most of the important things there.
VB and DD are pretty important even if they were flops. Unless they are trying to forget/ignore those... 'mistakes' if you want to call them that.
I find this confusing... as I attribute their output as them, almost literally. That is, unless you mean literally the people who run it, and how they run it, which I know nothing about.
I respect their current corporate structure, it makes a lot of business sense. That said, their listening ability has always been deaf. Nintendo rarely listen to their customers when designing new games/products (purple as the standard colour..really? no online either?etc) and this has backfired many times. Now they're just riding the money train and have a grace period of being a trend-setter. This won't last for long if their goods go stale, which some people believe is true for the Wii.
Nintendo drives me nuts these days... But then I play something on the N64... or maybe a classic from the 16 or 8 bit era and all the frustration just melts away. A total love-hate relationship.
oh they pissed gamers during the n64 era too, they pissed us a LOT - but when they do something good, it's so good that you just can't be mad at them
