This is incredibly random but I am going on a massive nostalgia trip after finding my Pokemon Red cartridge. When I had the game, I remember I had a magazine that had a section where it listed all of the Pokemon in the game with a bit of info and how to get them. The page format had each entry(I think) two rows with three columns per page, each entry being in a rectangular box. It would be rad to find it again. Fun side note: I was browsing through some magazines from around the time to try and find it (I want to say it was a GameFAN issue but so far no luck on finding it) on RetroMags, and it seems Pokemon didn't have any impact on the September/October 1998 issues. I figured that game would have had crazy amounts of coverage but it looks like I was wrong.
lol, I don't know the answer to what you're looking for, but my brothers got a poster with all 151 pokemon on it, and it had a pic of bulbasaur where butterfree was supposed to be. Pretty funny botch.
It's not what you're looking for but it does show you where to catch Pokemon. http://www.serebii.net/pokedex/ I pasted the link with it set to Generation 1. If it is not set to it, just click "Gen 1 Dex". Under that, you'll see two drop down boxes. The left one is for the Pokedex Number sorted list and the other one on the right is for the Alphabetical sorted list. Select the one you want, choose the pocket monster you desire, and it will show you all sorts of info on it including where to catch it. My only complaint with it is that Mew is listed as event only where in reality, there is also a glitch to catch it. Easily found on YouTube but avoid the ones saying something about it under a truck. That's a false rumor that was proven false by hackers who delved into the game's code iirc. Hope this helps!
Oh, thanks for that but I have no interest in actually going in to catch the Pokemon though, haha. I wanted to grab the magazine I had when I was a kid.
Ah ok! Hopefully you can find it. I wish I could find an old book from my childhood. Funnily enough, it was a Pokedex haha. It was a Pocket Pokedex for the GBA games by Prima but I forgot the specific name.
I seem to remember there were dedicated Pokemon magazines at the time. And Pokemon didn't hit big right away, in fact, some of the early reviews gave it a low score. Funny, since it exploded after that.
I got one of those kicking around, I can try to find it. It certainly looks like it! I'm kind of interested in flipping through some publications from the time to see what they said.
Actually you know what, I have one somewhere. Let me dig it out and take a peek Edit: Ok doesn't seem to be the one you're looking for. Lots of cool stuff in here though. I also seem to remember my friend having a magazine too, which had like a x/y graph of each Pokemons attributes. No idea which magazine it was though. Had to throw in that GBA mockup picture!
