Hello all, I am new to posting on the forum, but I have been lurking for a while hopefully you guys can assist me on this problem I have. So I got my Original Xbox on 2004, and a few days later I got this (http://images.esellerpro.com/2261/W/919/5/lrgscalemagicxfps.jpg) its an original (I believe its the first version) MagicBox XFPS. Thing is, I don't think I ever tested it, or used it. well now I want to make a custom Fightstick and thought that instead of hacking a controller I could use this, thing is, it does not work! I tried several different keyboards and it does not respond to any key presses. I believe pressing some F function keys the modes would change, but no matter which F key I press the thing does nothing, led turns on, but otherwise is dead. anyone knows if I need to do something else to make this work? I can't hardly find any info on this, other than a few reviews that mention not much about it. Or is mine just FUBAR? I have a Softmoded Xbox 1.6 if that matters Edit: I forgot to mention, the XFPS does get detected in the "Controller Test" program, but it does not register any presses TL;DR; MagicBox XFPS does not work, help?
"Which buttons on the keyboard the controller buttons map to are chosen by selecting F9, F10, or F11 on the keyboard. Which interface is currently in use is indicated by a light on the Magicbox itself. The "Blue Light" (F9) interface, for example, matches the controller. The X controller button maps to the X keyboard button. The "Red Light" (F11) interface seems more designed to take advantage of the keyboard layout, with the buttons grouped around the WASD keys. " Best Info I can find on the thing. Seems to be mainly plug and play...
well I got this to work, I bought another keyboard on a yard sale, tested it and it didn't work, it wasn't until I connected a mouse and keyboard that it started to work.. It never occurred to me that a mouse was needed for the keyboard part to be detected.
