Has any one here ever had any dealings with this store, http://www.mailorderjapan.com/ In my on going quest to find a JP/ Virtua Stick that I am now told are all over Japan but for some strange reason not in any Japan game stores on the good old web, go figure. I sent them an email and got this response Don, Virtua stick could be available but I really would have to check akihabara for it since its not in my own stock Thank you for choosing Mail Order Japan. If you have any questions, please contact us again. Does this mean they will locate one for me or are they just blowing me off??
What stick are you talking about? (can i have a picture). A friend of mine might have one. http://i9.ebayimg.com/02/i/03/5f/7a/5d_1_b.JPG Is it that one there? (went on ebay for £25.)
He'll probably have a look next time he's in Akihabara (that's what I did when I sent messages like that) but be warned... they're pretty big, and a hassle. Even though they cost no more than 1500 yen in Akihabgara (maybe even 500 or 1000... Saturn ones, right?) he'll probably not want to deal w/ it w/o a hefty commission.
best bet is to like I did withthe virtual on sticks I bought. Open them, and dismantle the stick(s). place the parts inside, reseal. Now it's just an easy to pack rectangular shape, you can even cram some gashapons inside to save space when packing it in your suitcase. If it's boxed (like mine were) fold the cardboard flat and fold the flaps on top or on bottom to make a rectangular shape. It'll stay nice and flat, fit in the suitcase, and be undamaged in the plane cargo hold.
Right... but as he's paying someone to do that, it's even now MORE of a hassle for that guy, and he'll likely get charged a higher commission (if the guy does it at all that is).
As for the original question, my answer would be e-mail them back and say - if you could check for me, I would appreciate that. Please keep me informed whether you can get it. Something like that
If you really want one then I'll get you one. I'll charge you no more than 1500 to 2000 yen for it (depending on how much it cost me) plus postage. You'll probably never get it that cheap from Mail Order Japan. Yakumo
I kept thinking Virtual On Twin Sticks. :/ Yeah, the Virtua Stick is mere sheckles. You do know a PS2 version is coming out this Spring, right?
