Don't know if this is the right section if not please move and sorry. what I would like to know if it is possible and anybody has done this before? basically I have a madcatz wirless controller with the big memory card receiver that plugs into the controller port. I hate the madcatz controller it is too small and my thumbs slip off the sticks. so I want to hide the wirless dongle in a custom xbox I'm making. and I want to know if the parts from the madcatz controller can be cut up and added to an official controller? is this possible?
I've never seen the board to the controller, but they would be completely different I reckon. It won't be a quick cut/swap job. You're best to get the wireless logitech controllers, and pop open the receiver and embed it inside the xbox above the power/eject assembly. Many have done this in their mods and seems to work the best.
Thanks for the info buddy. yeah I was looking at those controllers but on eBay they are £40.00 some are more
The logitech controllers are awesome! I really really hate third party controllers and i thought the logitech was going to fall right into that category. But to my surprise it worked great! The thumbsticks are very precise. This is the only third party controller I recommend! I promise you that you will love it also. Plus there is no other good option for a wireless controller.
If you don't need the yellow sync wire in the controller then you can just use a wireless USB adapter that's 1.1 compliant and put the device end in the S controller with a small battery pack. Keeps the memory card slots in the S controller and makes it wireless. Also might be able to hide the PC side of the system in the Xbox too. Might be enough room under the HDD tray towards the front. Just an idea I've thought about for a few years. I may try it at some point when I recover from the mad spending I've done recently...
I have been very happy with the original big madcatz lynx. Got 2 sealed on eBay for $20 a couple years back. http://www.ign.com/articles/2002/12/06/mad-catz-lynx-xbox-review
