I have a strange idea and possibly request. I'm sure some of you, if not most of you, have heard of The Jumbotron DS. I want to see about getting one myself. Problem is I don't know squat about coding to make the interface between DS and external screens through FPGA work. This is an idea that if I were to do it will take quite a while to get the parts for. I can handle the physical hacking like the cutting, soldering, wiring, packaging, etc. I'll just need help on getting the coding to work.

You may be asking "why bother?" I say "why not?"

So any ideas, help, tips, takers on it? Once I get money to do this I'll be happy to pay for any work done on any part of it. This is just something that's been floating in the back of my mind for a while now.

I'll be using an older DS Phat for this to allow for more room inside for other hacks in mind. When done it will have the external screens with bottom being touch through either finger or pen (doesn't matter), EZ Flash 3in1, SuperCard DSTwo, GBAccelerator, have the external screens be unpluggable with access through the GBA slot area (I'll be using the Lite version of the 3in1 to make room), and possibly more.

    Discussion?

Tablet running a DS emulator with an external screen? Easier electronics than messing around with FPGA's imho.

I find this interesting and have been interested in ways to "consolize" a DS before. Not exactly easy because of the dual screen touch screen scheme. There does not seem to be any ready made solution outside the IS nitro capture and that is a pretty rare and expensive piece of hardware.

The only emulator with good compatibility (but still not perfect), requires quite powerful CPU - 2 cores 3.2GHz minimum, even with dynarec, so forget about tablets.

Any REAL gamer knows emulation is not the way to go if at all possible. I don't care for emulation myself too much. Besides, the name of the game is a REAL oversized DS for my gorilla hands and to wave my dick around while saying "I have a custom DS with 14" screens, what YOU got?"
