I have a bunch of blank Dreamcast HKT-06 GDR's that I acquired a long time ago that I no longer think I'll do anything with. They come from a developer and it looks certain that 2 discs have burned content while 27 looks blank. Before I go ahead and sell them, I'd like to make sure that the 27 empty discs are indeed empty. Can I verify this on a normal PC DVD-drive? Testing the discs in my PC DVD drive, the two burned discs are reported as having 0 bytes free and are titled "SAMPLE_GAME_TITLE". The empty discs are reported as having 737 MB of 737 MB free, which I assume is all my DVD-drive can see. I guess the burned discs probably belong in the "Rare and Obscure" forum but I have no way of verifying that the discs contain readable data.
Yes you have 2 burned gd-r. With a normal PC-driven you can check IP.bin to get more info. For example, you can use this program : http://dchelp.dcemulation.org/downloads/ipwriter_016a.zip (menu File > Open CD-Rom). If lucky, name of software should be explicit.
Should be able to tell simply with the color change of the dye just like any CD-R or DVD-R for that matter.
Indeed you should be able to see the color of the dye change. If you decide to have the GD-Rs dumped, I would be willing to take care of that for you, as I have the System Disc 2 and Broadband Adapter setup to easily dump GD-R discs.. Members of this forum should be able to vouch for me.
Thanks for your help guys, I wasn't sure if I could deduct that simply from checking the dye. So it seems I have 27 blank GD-Rs. darcagn, thanks for your offer. I'll PM you some info.
