Hey guys I have a DVD movie and I want to take a snapshot of a scene and make that image the wallpaper on my PC. Does anyone know how to do it? I've tried Print Screen and pasted the image into Photoshop, but it's not a still image. It continues to play the movie in the pasted screen image.
You're doing it right. The reason your movie continues to play in the screen capture is because your media player renders with overlays. (Anything with a certain RGB color, usually near black, gets overwritten with the video image) I seem to remember answering this question just a while ago ;-) If you're using Windows Media Player, here's the procedure: Tools > Options > Performance > Advanced > Uncheck all "Use Overlays" This is for WMP9, if you're using 10 or 11 the process may be a little different but I'm sure the options are still there.
or use this fantastic player, which has a built in screenshot function, and will play virtually any media you throw at it, without resorting to nasty codec packs and whatnot. www.videolan.org try it out!
