After a long time, i got interested on arcade emulation again. GodofHardcore youtube channels suggestions might have some part in this.

Ii searched some of my backups and the last build i found was Mame32 0.128. I bet there's were tons of changes / additions since them. The problem is the ammount of builds that exist now. MamePlus, MameUI, MameUIFX,... I have no idea what to download. Any opinions or suggestions? I do like a nice frontend but don't need anything like Hyperspin. If i can select the games from a list, icons or even marquees, it would be fine.

    sdlmame user here, no frontends.
mame/mess have been doing that out of the box for a while now. It's just a list of text though - good enough for me, but probably not for everyone.

I use the default mame.exe from the developers website. Hyperspin too, but I hate to spend more time trying to get the assets for the games than actually playing.

    I compile from source.
Then, I use my own config file. Everything needed is already into MAME.
