Upwards of a possible $0.40 cents listing fee for a cheap item, and then a $0.20 cent fee for buy it now, THEN a fee for a percent of final value of your auction (Many times fairly expensive, $1-2 for cheaper items). Lets not forget paypal/bidpay fees, which get expensive at times. What was once a cheap $.60 cents years ago is now a expensive $3.00 sometimes, not counting paypal/bidpay fees (and that is just for cheap stuff). Hell, you can get screwed over if you sell a expensive item, such as a laptop, and then have someone back out at the last minute (the final value fee could kill your ebay account if you have a expensive item that someone backs out of).
I agree on that. Ebay is way too expensive, but its still offering a nice service for the mass. I dont sell that much on it rather than buying stuff, so i dont actually care much about selling fees. But still, everything is always too expensive
eBay could drop the fees to near nothing and still make oodles on sheer volume, they just prefer to rape the consumer until they get sued.
