I think if this went all the way to the supreme court they'd side with him. Though the content to the average joe would certainly raise a few eyebrows, and I bet this whole scandal has absolutely ruined his reputation...thats what you get for owning Lolicon!

This reminds me of that episode of SVU where some kid gets convicted for owning a Manga called "Rape Man".

How the hell did they find out he had this stuff. I mean wtf business is it of theirs. Comics/Manga with underage porn is alot different than actual children shot with a camera. It's victimless. And I'm pretty sure he's just a collector and not a pervert.

So i guess i should be going to prison for buttrape, seeing as how i own American history x on DVD. On the same note, i should be convicterd of murder too, guess i shouldnt have bought that Sin City graphic novel.

This is bullshit that he can be convicted on having FUCKING COMIC BOOKS. Did he photograph any minors??? Did he engage in sexual acts with any minors?? Then what the fuck is the issue. Wow this country really aggravates me sometimes.

How do you go to your boss and tell them you need some days off work for this court case?

"oh by the way - I'm going to need the next few weeks off work. Oh - it's nothing - just some court case because I import manga that depicts children being boinked by lizard men and cats with top hats that like to partake in deviant acts with fat old men."

Perhaps not the wisest of sentences given the circumstances lol

(His) lawyer (stated) “He did not focus on this type of manga. He collected everything that was out there that he could get his hands on..."

even 'sick' people have a right to freedom, as long as they don't pose a social risk, that's my view.

Well, you're a lawyer. You'd make a lot of money from protecting that point of view, one would imagine.

I was thinking about this the other day, what if some country, lets say, Japan, makes cyborgs that are extremely lifelike...like that can walk, talk, do stuff, etc: Okay. And they are anatomically accurate for the most part, and they are 'equipped' so you can bang them.

Lets say, hypothetically, they made a little girl android, some creepy guys buys one, and he bangs it every night.

If you were a juror and this guy in question got convicted for owning an extremely lifelike child sex android, wouldn't you think he was a menace to society?

My mind tends to wander a lot at work, but with stuff like "ASIMO" and Realdolls out there, I bet sometime in the future someone's gonna put them together.

Hmm, very good point, Mr. Casual and one that needs some thought before answering. YOu could say that the android would keep the sicko away from real kids or then again maybe the android would influence a sicko?

mere lines drawn on a piece of paper are a great deal different than a close near life-like simulation doll, which by design is made evoke realism and express practical sexual desire.

I will not argue for or against the whole "doll" concept but it would be a whole lot 'guiltier' as an act than a manga, mainly because it would be strong evidence in suggesting that such a person is capable and entertains fantasies of inappropriate behaviour to the point that he pursues a practical manifestation of such a desire. That would be enough intent to cause harm to a minor most juries would say, I believe.

Why not just debate the point w/ a Real Doll. It's used for the same thing... although they don't make an under aged one from what I know (and hope).

I believe Japan does, though. No, I wasn't looking for it...its just something I've learned when I used to go to 4chan.

I think their youngest "Doll" is like a lifelike 13 year old, however...nothing 'too' young.

I know the ones you mean, they are called "Candy Girl"

I saw them on Dannychoo.com, an anime/manga model site, nothing, you know... under the counter or anything... honest!

Those aren't real dolls though. I'm talking about the brand, not the product of fuck dolls in general. Real dolls are meant to replace humans... uh... more than the other ones. 13 is the age of consent, btw, so probably in their minds they're not doing anything wrong.

This is the best documentary in the history of film making, btw.

I think one guy bought one to replace his wife who had died, but the others...creepy, sad people.

The black guy is classic. "At first, it was just sex sex sex sex sex, but our relationship has gone far beyond that now".

I've seen that documentary on TV - it was very interesting, very sad too. The one guy with seemed so lonely...

It reminded me of another documentary about people who are in love objects (including a woman who is in love with and has "sex" with a theme park ride)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qE3pGYjz8Ws

But this is all very off topic of the poor guy who got arrested for having lolicon.

It's not that off topic. I think it sucks that these people are lonely, but c'mon... there are lonely people of both sexes. There is SOMEONE out there that won't be repelled even by the most obnoxious people.
