As title says...just somewhat strange, never happened before (since I recall at least)..times are changing!
Norway's still on track with Wii version, atleast. A spokeswoman for Nintendo Norway basicly said this when asked about it; "In general, we'd like to have the widest game selection possible on Nintendos consoles in order to reach out to the biggest audience possible"
Nintendo Norway says 6th of July on their homepage. First one didn't come out in Japan atleast, and I guess Capcom's the most likely to localize it IF it were to happen. Though, seeing the odd censorship rules/laws/whatever Japan seems to follow, I doubt this title would be released there.
I remember GTA was banned in Singapore but somehow everybody seemed to have a copy!.. they can ban all they want but people will get it one way or another anyway! this hole ban thing just stopt big shops from selling them and a few people that don't know their way around the net will be unable to buy it but that's it (boehoehoe) so at the end of the day banning it only helps hyping it up and making it a badboy thing to own!
Lately everyone is saying Man Hunt 2 is banned like everywhere. I've never played the previous game but I have to say I want to play this one. I never understood what's wrong with AO ratings. What's the big deal? I'll buy it still. I don't really give a shit what it's rated. But we all know what will happen, for places they bitch alot they will meet with the group of bitches and ask what they need to tone down or take out to be able to release it with the rating under AO. I hate censorship.
Manhunt 2 was heavily criticised by the UK certification board, banned and cancelled for UK release. It looks like Rockstar are appealing against the decision, but highly unlikely to succeed.
This is clearly a huge publicity stunt, and although Rockstar probably aren't too happy about losing commercial sales, the import trading backlash will easily cover their costs.
i thought mature people were mature enough to be responsible for their own shit. Adults ARE mature, and mature people ARE adults. NO kid can be safely assumed mature. So instead of bollocking everyone about this, they should just make the M rating 18 and over - wont make a difference for a year. Or alternatively, you can take a maturity test to determine if u r fit to carry an AO/M license on u in order to purchase stuff. of course i m joking.
I believe the real issue is that society as a whole thinks that a game where the object is to kill people in such a graphic and violent way is bad and should not be sold. And therefore, organizations like the BBFC and OFLC are following what society thinks is acceptable and banning or restricting it.
Are you saying society should welcome games like this with open arms? I don't really care if adults buy them, but they certainly should be restricted to people over 18. And yes, media violence does affect people. I don't think it makes ordinary people actually act out stuff portreyed in games, but it does make people more aggressive and desensitized to violence... it's not just sensational journalism and politics, there is a bit of truth to it all... obligatory [Flame suit ON]!
Hey, ok for me for >18 (or even 21) but then everyone is responsible for its own business...keep in mind that not only kids can kill. a 50 years old could it as well.
Oh well, it looks like People who love Denmark will have a wonderful time being here, since Manhunt 2 it is not going to be banned, and well there is no law about a 15 year old is not allowed to buy the game. And the same is to the old GTA hot coffee saga.
