I stumbled upon this on ebay:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Manic-Game-Girl-RARE-limited-Korean-PlayStation-PS1-/260727657009

A copy of a Korean PlayStation game called "Manic Game Girl", it's starting bid is set at 299 US Dollars. I've never seen this game before and I couldn't find out much about it on the internet as well, so I figured this forum would be the right place to ask about it.

Here's the auction photo, re-upped of course:

According to his nickname, the seller is also the owner of Playstation museum, the only page on the net that seems to have covered a little information about the game:

Seems to be some sort of beat'em up / hack & slay action game with a female video game playing superhero??

hey thanks for posting the information! I haven't seen or heard of this game before either but I have heard of the seller and his stuff is always overpriced.

I wonder how much you could by that game for on a different market? I honestly doubt it would be that expensive, but then again I could be wrong. I'll do some digging as well.

It has been dumped, if you're curious about the game itself.

I know, but I'm more interested in the game as a collector's item. To be honest, I wasn't even aware of any Korean exclusives for the PlayStation... o_o

Yea yea after seeing the ridiculous price on the bay (several years ago), I decided to buy it from a Korean online game shop. It was about 25-30. :)

PS wondering if he ever dumped some of the Unreleased ps games such as Ghost Rider and black n white.

I am really curious about this game. I have read only a little information about it... that ebay copy looks nice but the price---did this game get really low print run? (Obviously not huge); just wondering how easy it is to find in Korea.

Why this game was exclusive to Korea?

I would guess because it was done by a Korean Dev Studio and they didn't have the funds to translate the game to other regions . . . but like I said I'm only guessing.

I think it was supposed to see an international release originally. It was developed by Joycast and apparently the english translation was well underway if not complete. I believe Joycast was working on a deal at one time with Conspiracy Entertainment for North American release but I don't know why it fell through.

Gaming Age article First Look: Maniac Game Gal (PS) has some information on it as well as some english-language screenshots!

Nice find! I wonder if there is a preview/review/beta copy somewhere that has the game mostly translated to english, that would be an awesome thing to see!
