So mine like others out there megakey doesn't function on my MD1. Well there was a member here by the name of lost69 that patched Golden Axe III for us. Well I want to start a thread here as how to manually fix that extra region protection these games have without the use of a darn code every time. I tried that fixchecksum on GA3 to replicate your ROM to no avail BTW.
so the rom i posted for you did not work?:-0 because i am able to run it on my model 2 sega. the only thing i did was look all over the place on the net a good working rom of golden Axe 3.
Yes yours worked for me but I was trying to find out why and how it works. Going to snag uCon and see if I can fix this ROM I have. EDIT Nope it just hangs and gives the "you are using an out of country cart) I just need to find a way to play SSF2 in English so I can read the story line no matter how bad it really is.
a very very easy solution is to mod the md directly http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/console/sega/md1switches2.htm i managed to do that by myself and thats a good proof O_____O
