Interesting... I don't think I have it (although I have a bunch of Marathon and Durandal-related demo discs), but what caught my eye there was the discussion about the hidden Bob room. I was actually playing the Marathon iOS port yesterday, and I came across the hidden room and the Bob inside. Odd...

Perhaps the demo was included in the Marathon Trilogy Box Set? I remember something of that nature being on the disc, but don't quote me on that. I don't have the disc on hand (well technically I have two, one being the Japanese version and the other being the American one, but they're both sealed NIB) so I can't check. I've been talking to Doug Zartman as of late to try to find the last few things I need for my Bungie collection, so I might see if he's got all of the demo files somewhere. Don't expect it to be anytime soon though, his replies don't come often unfortunately.

Ugh trying to extract these old Mac archives on a PC SUCKS. Been at it for 5 hours now.

Yep. Unless you're using an old Mac you're going to have a really bad time.

Here are some screenshots from the Bob I found on iOS, and where you can find him on the map. At some point I'll get out my PowerMac 7200/90 and record a clip of him on the Marathon v0.0 demo.

IIIIInteresting. Damn. I've managed to extract the .hqx files down to the .sea. Absolutely stuck at this point.

In the 0.0 Demo, you actually hear "ghost like voices" coming from the docking bay. And that BOB actually runs around and activates stuff. I really gotta get this extracted! >.<

I don't think you're going to have much luck.

On iOS, he just keeps running back and forth and won't leave the room which is interesting. I have no idea why he's still in the game...

Yeah what you're looking at is left over code that once played a much bigger role.

Having it be leftover code doesn't make any sense. If it wasn't in the full game, and the iOS port was created using the source code of the retail release, why would the Bob be in there at all? Possibly just an added easter egg by the creator Daniel Blezek.

I've got an old g3 powerbook, if you have no luck I can see if I can open the sea file, can't remember seeing that format before though

EDIT: I just tried to boot my powerbook and no response, even with the power supply plugged in, anyone know why that may be??

.sea is Stuffit for Mac archive extension

    .sea
    Self Extracting Archive Mac OS
    A pre-Mac OS X Self-Extracting Archive format.
StuffIt, Compact Pro, Disk Doubler and others could create .sea files, though the StuffIt versions were the most common.

I'm thinking an old Quadra 650 running 7.5.1 would mount this once clicked and you'd be able to play it. Any Mac from that 1995 / 1996 era, preferably 68k and not PPC?

    *bangs head against wall*
I called off work today because I've been up all night trying to extract this ancient encoder.
    -__-'
I really don't want to spend my tax refund on an ancient computer just to unzip a set of files.
If anyone can dump the .sea for the 0.0 Demo, and 4L Demo, it would simply be a miracle.

Lol "Thank you GOD!" as in an expression that the war is over, such as, "OOH Thank GOD!!!"
