In the rush to ship, Xbox One consoles were packed up with at least two different versions of the MTE test disc. The green June 2010 MTE Retail Test Disc is a DVD which seems to have been created for the Xbox 360. The blue March 2013 MTE Test Disc is a Blu-ray which targets the Xbox One exclusively. Unlike the June 2010 MTE Retail Test Disc the March 2013 MTE Test Disc doesn’t have anything interesting on it. The entire disc is one big test pattern, presumably used in conjunction with software running on the Xbox One to test the Blu-ray drive. There’s no file system. Each sector contains a repeating set of numbers: one counting up per sector and one counting down per sector.
Well I ran the green one I have in an rgh running rgloader and extracted the files through Xbox Neighborhood. There was very interesting stuff on it.
That was a non blu-ray right?? I don't think he can do that with this one. But I'm sure you know that..
whats the "interesting" stuff on the DvD? Also where there seriously Retail units shipped with the Test discs still in them?! 0.O
Music clips, soundbites, pics of development kits in prototype stages, early dev team pics, just odd ball random stuff to stress the kits out. From my understanding there is a usb drive attached to the console in which has and will run a default.xex in order to utilize the content on the disc.
