I haven't posted a new thread in a while, so here goes http://www.zee-3.com/pickfordbros/softography/index.php?game=61 Looking up some of the Pickford bros.' work, I stumbled across this very interesting bit of info. Little did I know that they were the folks behind this amazing 64DD series! (and WarioWare dare I say?) Did the Pickfords also develop the other Mario Artist titles that were released or just this referenced pair of titles? From the article's tone, it would seem that they were the original drive behind the concept, as an extension of Mario Paint. (although from what I gather, they were employees of Software Creations at the time) Has anyone had the chance of trying the(unreleased titles) out in person, or knows anything more on the topic? wink wink.
Heard about this, even remember a mag showing early pics of 3d room decorated in Mario textures and did have a sorta western outline to it. However if you read the article carefully NOJ took over the project and scrapped most of what they did so they used only certain elements. Plus they state they do not consider it one of their projects due to final game lacking most of their work.
I'm more curious about the unreleased Mario Artist titles (Talent Maker being one of them), and the extent of their involvement. Additionally, the fact that they don't consider it as one of their projects might well be due to their contractual relationship at the time with Software Creations, I'd assume. From what I know, Software Creations did the early audio libs for the n64 (before the amazing work by Factor5).
