I wonder what kind of fresh new and exciting control scheme a wii-mote shoved up the ass of a teddy bear would offer..
Keep in mind that these patents were registered before the Wii was launched. I wonder if it wasn't an attempt by Nintendo to throw potential imitators off the scent by registering patents for things they had no intention of really making, in addition to the real products. If I'm not mistaken, Apple also does this to keep the details of their upcoming projects secret.
Nintendo has enough trouble with games that Utliize the Wiimote to it's fullest as it is........3rd parties even more so (Nights anyone........It had So much potential to use the Wiimote but they choked) Knowing Nintendo I don't think we'll see any games that do anytime soon.
That seems probable. In any case, it can't hurt to have too many patents - even if they are really stupid.
Meh, people bloat the potential of the Wii remote. It's much like the DS, HW limitations get in the way of anything constructive being made. Only major use has come from on screen currsors. Nothing has come out as a serious replacement to wii sports. Wii fit sort of suffers from the same issues but I think in conjunction with the wiimotes it has more posible potential (but only in a very limited scope of games). (yes i've actualy used a wiifit).
I think the DS has reached it's potential the GBA slot opens alot more up too like the Akinoid knob. Nights SHOULD have been waving the Wiimote around to make Nights move instead it's just a Cash in Half assed Nights sequel using standard controllers. Rez Could be Cool on Wii but it should be a port with Wii controls not a sequel. Rez needs to stand alone.....but that's another thread.
Wait did you try or own an import version or is Nintendo actually giving 3rd parties the option to use the wii fit board?
3rd party given the option to use wiifit. Namco's Wii Family Ski is the first 3rd party software to use wiifit (just came out recently). -- edit -- I tried an import wiifit and wii family ski recently last week.
no. go play tony hawk down hill jam or SSX and you'll see that the motion controls are for the most part fine the way they are. And for nights on teh wii, if i could have just used analog over some crazy control scheme I would have (and I did over the notso crazy motion control)
As a question does anyone have a link to said patents or indeed any patent numbers? As this important piece of information seems to be missing so the pictures could have been done by a deranged fanboy.
