OK, so I feel like a retard for asking this; but my research skills have failed me:redface:

I happened upon an indigo game cube in Japan but instead of it having a black jewel on the top and saying "Game Cube" it has a Mario Kart Double Dash jewel with Maio Karters on their karts and it says Mario Kart Double Dash. The model number on the bottom was the same as every other cube, and the jewel wasn't just a sticker or anything.

I can't find reference to it anywhere on the net... someone want to clue me in?

you can interchange the Lid tops on the GC, there was an Umbrella styled one for RE for example etc.

Huh... almost 10 years of owning a Gamecube and I never realised you could do this, just tried it out then and I've no idea how I missed that.

Actually it's not that. I'll pick it up tomorrow (the system's only 700 yen) and take a picture for curiosity's sake.
