    Action: Bought From
Items: Infinium Labs Phantom / Lap Board
    Date: September 5, 2016
Feedback: I hate to leave poor feedback for anyone, especially an Assembler member, but Martianman aka Matthew J. Culley ripped me off for $862.71. I paid by PayPal on September 5, 2016 at approximately 1:30am for one Phantom Game Console with a broken power supply, one Lap Board in very good condition and Fedex Ground shipping. Matthew acknowledged receipt of the PayPal transfer on September 6, 2016 and promised to ship the items the very next day. Over the past 40 days, I've read several run of the mill excuses from Matthew Culley including: (a) he got engaged; (b) he lost the tracking number; (c) he left the country and left the tracking number back at home; (d) he was very busy with things; and finally (e) he misprinted my address on the package, so it was returned to sender. Although Matthew Culley did acknowledge the shipping label misprint was his mistake, he failed to provide the tracking number printed on said shipping label or send a photograph of the label to me. Matthew also promised to ship the Phantom the very next day on 3 more occassions. However, despite almost 20 polite requests for the tracking number or a refund he never provided either and eventually stopped responding at all. As of today, October 17, 2016 the situation remains unresolved, which is how I expect it to stay. I would not recommend this seller to anyone. This is a bad guy that should be avoided.

UPDATE: Following all the great advise from the Assembler community and some particularly useful information from Syclopse, I excercised all of my recovery options. I am very happy to report that the seller shipped the Phantom via Fedex and it arrived on 11/1/16. It was professionally packed and in excellent condition. The seller didn't provide an explanation, but it didn't matter to me because the final outcome was far better than I ever hoped for a few weeks ago. Thanks to all of you for the help! I hope to repay your generosity when the opportinity presents itself.

Sorry to hear that. This is very disheartening, paypal couldn't do anything?

Did you pay with bank or debit/credit card on paypal cause even if you paid by gift or good and paypal won't do anything I would call your bank or card company and let them know what happened they will credit the funds back into your account hope that can be of some help and sorry that happened to you.

Too many days might have passed (I believe PayPal might have a 30 day policy) but you might still be able to do a chargeback. Hopefully you paid as goods and services, never pay for big ticket items like this as F&F unless you truly 100% trust the person and are okay with that money going missing!

Even better! You should easily be able to get a refund then.

Thanks to everyone for the kind messages and information. I'm overwhelmed by your support. Those of you who deal with me know that I am happy to pay by PayPal gift service to trusted Assembler sellers and friends. In this case, I did not use PayPal gift because the seller was a newer member. I've been told that my big mistake was to wait too long before taking any action. I'll admit that my desire to get the console clouded my judgement. I definitely ignored a few red flags in the first few weeks. It wasn't until very recently that I really understood that things had gone very wrong. I'm embarassed looking back on it all now.

Thanks again for all the replies and excellent information. When I posted the negative feedback it was meant to serve as a warning beacon for others. I never expected all the help and I am completely blown away.

Negative user feedback is a rare sight on these boards. Most people that use the marketplace are well-established and respected members/veterans that know all too well what it's like to get burnt.

Hell, just look at the ebay hall of shame thread. It's almost past 100 pages. :D

Syclopse, I still don't completely understand how you managed to find the information you sent me. Suffice to say, it was exceptionally useful. It was far more valuable than I can describe in a simple posting. Sorry I am not better with words. I just wanted to publicly thank you for making this a successful transaction instead of the cautionary tale it was. I owe you one hell of a big favor. Thanks again, Syclopse!
