Coming to the PS3 and XB360, apparently using the SFIV engine! Woot!

    M U L T I
    - PlanetXbox360 reported that Capcom confirmed the development of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 at the Capcom Captivate event in Hawaii. The game will have 2D gameplay and 3D graphics like Street Fighter IV, confirmed characters include Wolverine, Spider-Man, The Hulk, Magneto and Storm. The game will be heading to PS3 and Xbox 360 in late 2010 or early 2011 in 1080p resolution.

If this works, they will have no excuse for not doing a new Darkstalkers.

I'm looking forward to this. Marvel Vs Capcom 2 on the Dreamcast is still a mighty fine fighter. If they can pull off the same thing but looking like Street Fighter IV then we are indeed in for a treat.

Can't wait to see this in action. Getting this the day it come out.

Capcom need to release Vampire Chronicle or Darkstalkers Collection on PSN/Live as soon as possible. A new game in the series using the SFIV engine would be awesome though.

Not to dissapoint anyone in any way, but SFIV engine SUCKS BALLS HARD. Crossovers were always meant to be in 2d with HQ sprites ala blazblue (except tatsunoko vs capcom, that is). IF the playability is like in mvc2, then it ***COULD*** be the glory, but if not... it will fail hard

I hate the SF4 engine but I don't think it'll use it. Capcom never recycles engines despite on updates to a previous game (SF2 -> Sf2 CE, SF4 -> SSF4) all the vs games had their own engine.

I think the first one was partially but there's no way Mvc1 and 2 used the same engine - or used the COTA engine.

    Holy crap!

My attitude towards this was "Meh, I believe it when I see it"..and, well, I'm seeing it now!

After seeing the trailer I'm happy its not on the SF4 engine because its just flat out terrible. Judging by the producer (Guy whos behind TvC on the Wii) and the MT Framework at the end its gonna be similar to TvC with HD graphics which could be good if its done right. But don't get your hopes up really high!

I really hope they don't make the same mistake with Music like they did in MVSC2.

It wasn't that bad... sure the character select theme is just about the most repetitive piece of music on the planet. But the rest if pretty good.

    Only around 30 characters.
Slighly dissapointed, as the ones that I like are bound to be missing like Jill Valentine, Hayato, Jin, etc.....

At least there will be new ones that may become favorites.

Yes, just like Alpha was based off of the Darkstalkers engine and SF3 was based off of the Red Earth engine, etc.

Capcom reuse engines all the time. They refine, but they reuse.
