Priority mail flat rate went from $12.95 to $19.99, some countries $25!!!

No more parcel post except if you go to the store.

Limit on international flat rate to 4lb from 20.

Ack. I always have used USPS since it seems to be cheaper than competitors... maybe they realized they could easily raise prices. Or maybe the mail system is in deeper shit than I thought.

I literally ship in nothing but flat rate, that SUCKS. Seriously, did they really need to raise the rates that much?

The 4lb limit is only on the small flat rate box and padded flat rate envelope. the Medium and Large are still 20lbs. Dunno what you could put in the small Flat rate box thats more than 4lbs.

This totally cramps my style. I HATE that I can't ship 1st class/parcel post int'l via PayPal right now (which will supposedly come back in a month or so). Ugh.

glad i imported a mini SNES from us last week. so for europeans it is getting harder to import NTSC consoles. unfortunately USPS is the best company with customs related issues here. DHL and others overcharge for custom fees.

One person who bought a game from me on Ebay benefited from me not knowing about the price increase until it was too late. I used to be able to ship a 1 ounce Atari Lynx game anywhere in the world for $3.00. Now, it costs me $6.55 to ship a 1 ounce Lynx game outside of North America! In one day, it unexpectedly increased by more than 100%. Well, the international buyer bought one of my Lynx games for $4.00 plus the $3.00 shipping, but lo and behold, I found out that all of a sudden, I had to pay $6.55 to ship it to him, so after I get charged my 9% Ebay fees on that item, I'll be taking a loss on that one. I then quickly had to adjust all of my remaining shipping costs on all of my still active games, so that I wouldn't take a hit again. As long as international buyers are willing to pay the extra shipping costs to get items that they may not be able to get otherwise, there should be little problems. It should certainly encourage buying multiple items from the same seller if possible, to reduce the shipping costs per item where possible.

I can tell you the reason behind this shit. Someone in the postal service got a massive promotion to being the head of a whole division. They threw a $2,000,000 party for her at the expense of the USPS. True story. It was allover the news for a while.

Yeah right, 2 million dollars is a drop in the ocean for a company that lost billions last year.

Another pebble (or more like huge rock) in the shoe for international collectors who reside in crappy countries with humongous import taxes, like me, yay! Loved USPS because of the low charges, this is very bad news.
