Awww, come on man, get a sense of humour. It was just a joke. I'd have made the same joke if you'd mentioned certain styles of movie or music. Fuck me, you need to lighten up and not take things to heart. You've just gotten an amazingly sweet haul and you're getting pissy because I and a few others have poked fun? Jesus...

I don't think he intended it as anything but a joke my good man.

I've played the Zelda games on the sole CD-I emulator out there. They suck, but I think that is mainly because the control emulation either is terrible or I have no idea how to utilize it properly.

There are people out there who find them campy and humorous. People find the same qualities in the Rocky Horror Picture show a positive thing. Others are hateful, spiteful creatures who find fault with pizza.

Yeah, sometimes it's tough to get my delivery across in text, but I laughed at what everyone said. Didn't mean to offend at all, sorry if it came across that way.

APE: I don't know if it's the emulation, from what little I just played of Zelda's Adventure, the controls are pretty terrible. That, and there is a fucking LOAD screen when transitioning anywhere on the map. Garbage.

Got a lot more testing to do, see if I can find something playable on the system.

The controls on the emulator are kind of odd in a way. Originally, they only had support for mouse controls, so on a sidescrolling game like Wand of Gamelon, if you are walking right, you're going to have to keep lifting your mouse up and setting it back down to the left as you play. They've added keyboard controls recently, but I'm not getting very good results with those, either.

Wand of Gamelon and Faces of Evil were not good Zelda games, but really were decent games in their own right.

Wow, that's gotta make any CDI collectors heart skip a beat. I kind of liked it and use to have fun playing the demo unit at the local Sears when I was younger.

There really is no need. There are a number of copies out there already and it is identical to the final released version. It's not a prototype. It's a promotional disc that was sent to stores, the press, etc...The CD-Rs and a couple of the test discs are the really interesting items in the lot for CD-i collectors. Everything else is fairly common.

Sorry mrmarko637, as you say, context and nuance are difficult to portray in text.

    Impressive, most impressive.

I remember 'Voyeur' from back in the day. The game was on a Apple demo disc with such classics as 'Flashback' and 'Blackthorne'. My dad told me, "Don't EVER play this game."

I played the games on that disc many times and 'Voyeur' was always just sitting there in the window. It's icon was a keyhole. One day, I finally worked up the courage to try it. The game started and then I got scared and quit the game and I haven't played it since. haha
