Master System Black Screen Only Problem

Hi guys

I have two Master System 2 consoles, which are showing black screen only.

Thought I should ask if there is any cure for this, before I bin them?

Voltage regulator is working fine, and outputs 5V.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I would never recommend someone toss a system just because they can't get it to work. Especially someone who is a member of a game community.

Did you already check for cold solder joints?

I already own two Master System 1 models in my collection, but these were just taking up space in my garage.

I have checked visually for cold solder joints, but there are so many.

Are there any in particular spots that are known for causing problems?

Should I just res-older every single one?

Yes they should all be fixed. I had to do the same thing when I had an SMS that wouldn't read games.

 

If the console works (outputs video and audio) but in B/W I'm sure there no major problem with them, don't bin them! I actually this that it might be just a TV setting that causes this problem.

There is no image on screen, it just turns black when the console is powered on, and stays like this.

 

If you have no technical know how then offer them up for sale? should get £15 £20 for them.

It is odd that both go to black screen?!?

Are you sure you have the correct power supply. I'm sure they need 9V 1A and centre negative?

Any difference if a game is inserted?

Do you have a miltimeter?

Power supply is good, its MD1 PS, works on other MS consoles I have.

No difference if game is inserted.
