Softpedia article GSW article Anyone else heard about this? Mattel are releasing a CD-based videogame system on the cheap called "Hyperscan", aimed at younger kids, which has a built-in card scanner. It comes with some RFID-equipped cards called Intellicards, but there're going to be hundreds available to buy seperately. The "intellicard" title is odd... given that none of the advertising is playing on the Intellivision brand history (somewhat unsurprisngly). Just an in-joke I guess. The card scanning thing reminded me of Barcode Battler, which brings back some bitter memories... this'll be totally different, though...
Sounds like another one of those child learning tools that people will forget about in 3 years...Eh, how expensive is it going to be?
This seems really interesting. Definately something to collect on the side. I m curious if they will have this in the toy section or actual VG section of stores.
read about it on kotaku some day ago. sounded a little strange but I guess this might become a collectors item ^^
The head on the right looks HORRIBLE. I doubt this is a finished product. If it is, I sense VERY poor development.
Looks like a PS1 game from its last days. The head on the left looks drawn, and the right one looks god awful.
Ah, no wonder. I only browsed through the first link. Anywho, $70 isn't bad at all for a minimum console with a game. Design is also nice as well. Still, I don't see developers diving into it (Maybe EA, Sega, and a few others).
