Does anyone have more beta videos or images? i know the 1998, 1999, 2000, pc games special 2000, 2001 and some near final gameplay videos on ign, but apparently they had a gameplay video of the ps2 port when it was shown at e3 2001, and i believe it contained the different enemies hands and hud.
I remember a clip on youtube that showed one of the bosses on a motorcycle but I recall it was a dreamcast port.
This is from e3 1998, there was no dreamcast footage, actually its believed by some that the port didn´t even make out of the paper and there was no devkit at remedy, althrough others says that there was a devkit there once, also ign said that the dreamcast port would only be developed after the pc release.
If it ever existed for the Dreamcast it was probably like the port of System Shock 2 where it was ridiculously early and not in a playable state.
if a disc of this survives anywhere it would be somewhat playable but only if this is genuinehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3vKphP7CdU and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGdEgi1Ii50
I remember reading by one of the developers that the Dreamcast port was merely considered, no work was ever done on it.
Now i remember, it was on a interview when they said that the dreamcast port didn´t even make out the planning stage, but then someone said that there was a katana devkit in remedy, althrough the dreamcast port would be only developed after the PC release. However the PS2 version started being ported by rockstar toronto in early 2001, and according to ign there was a footage at e3 2001 and even on their site, i remember that there was screenshots with a different hud dating back april 2001, it is on the gamespot in the ps2 page.
A conversion of Max Payne was announced by Take-Two for the Dreamcast, almost simultaneously with the PC version, along with two other titles. Despite the enthusiasm that Rockstar Games showed for the DC, the console version of Max Payne was delayed and postponed many times. However, Take Two officially announced that the DC version would be published only after the release of the PC version, but in the end we never saw this port. One of the founders of Remedy, interviewed about this unfortunate game, said “… no I have never seen a code of Max Payne run on Dreamcast…” I took this piece from unseen64, I know I've read the last part somewhere else as well, maybe it was DCEmu.
Going back to the DC devkit again I quote my post from a previous Max Payne Dreamcast article (taken from Edge magazine doing a profile on it): http://www.assemblergames.com/forum...ayne-dreamcast&p=340765&viewfull=1#post340765
