runabout: they are in fact one & the same game. first japanese edition (with the guitar) was called Super Runabout: San Francisco Bay (2000), which was later (2001) re-released in japan as Super Runabout: San francisco EDITION (< its written like this on the cover, in CAPS), this cover is a collection of in game pics. Came out in the US as Super Runabout: San Francisco Edition and in europe as Super Runabout: The Golden State

What is the game in the Japanese cover art, to the left of Rush Rush Rally Racing in the 5th picture?

Also, I'm not familiar with any of the sampler discs that came with DC magazines back in the day. I don't suppose any of the dream on discs contain anything like... demos of ultimately unreleased games?

That reminds me of another DC question. Was there a DC centric magazine in Japan which came with sampler discs?

 

You mentioned that some european games don't run in VGA but their US counterparts do. You wouldn't happen to be able to list which ones would you? It would rather help me out.

The first few times I read it I didn't notice any differences, clearly I wasnt looking very hard

 

this month I only got 3 games, as I needed some funding to redo my games room. so I ended up with

-midway's greatest arcade hits volume 2 ntsc us (I still need to get this, as the seller accidentally sent volume 1)

Nice setup Looks very professional and orderly with the black shelves.

I just got a US black sports dreamcast today. It looks really cool in person and slightly different from how I've seen it in pictures and videos - the black plastic is actually really shiny, I think its a slightly different plastic mold than the white cases.

Hey Mayu, on the Japanese side of the collection, maybe you should consider looking at the ebay seller "hit-japan". It must be some kind of retro game outlet in Japan because he/it has been posting multiple back to back auctions of 100 Japanese dreamcast games with free shipping. For the last few weeks.

The seller seems sophisticated, so you probably won't find a copy of Border Down in with the wholesale lots. But I see plenty of JPN only games in the lots that are posted.

there's only 3: the 2 with the statues (ghidorah & gamera) & the godzilla one. for a long time I myself thought there were 4 until I went digging in sega's hardware serial numbers

and no Dark; not sturmwind (but now that you mention it, that too should arrive pretty soon)

(or are you referring to that one, since it comes with Ghidora?)

No theres a fourth one not alot of people know about. Its a competition item. I outbid one of the forum members here last year on YJA to get it.
