MD2 VA1.8 RGB/Jailbar Mod Problems

This is my first mod to the Genesis line and up until completion, it was pretty simple. I followed Bob's guide from RetroRGb and even removed and bridged the 75 ohm resistors from the RGB out on the board. I don't have my scart cable in yet, so I am just using the composite cable right now.

The screen is very dark and the jailbars are still there, which is why I wanted to do this in the first place. Can someone help me pinpoint where I went wrong?
